1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using The Regret Index (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Regret Index Ltd.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you are not barred from receiving services under applicable law.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use at support@regretindex.com.

4. Submissions & Content

• You retain ownership of the content you submit. By submitting, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to publish, display, and include your submission (in anonymised form) in the archive and any derivative datasets.
• You must not submit false, misleading, or fabricated decisions or outcomes.
• You must not submit content that is defamatory, unlawful, or identifies a third party without their consent.
• You must not submit promotional content, advertisements, or spam.

5. Moderation

We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any submission that violates these terms or our community standards. We are not obligated to publish any submission. Moderation decisions are final, though you may appeal by emailing support@regretindex.com.

6. Prohibited Uses

You must not:

• Scrape or bulk-download data from the Platform without prior authorisation.
• Use the Platform to build a competing service using our data.
• Attempt to reverse-identify anonymised submissions.
• Abuse, harass, or otherwise harm other users.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform's systems.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided “as is.” We make no warranties — express or implied — regarding accuracy, fitness for purpose, or availability. Submissions reflect the experiences of anonymous individuals and should not be treated as professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise).

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Regret Index Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or reliance on its content.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon termination, your personal data is deleted; anonymised submissions remain in the archive.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to These Terms

We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
